Launched in 2016 through Park Community Church, the Renew Chicago Triathlon Team is a faith-based athletic organization operated under the direction of Renew Chicago and assembled to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a creative and inspirational way.
Renew Chicago, a 501(c)3 charity, exists to inspire, educate and mobilize our community to build the goodness and greatness of our city. We're in the city and for the City of Chicago, focusing on city transformation and renewal. Rooted in partnership with a diverse collection of non-profits, Renew Chicago provides financial and leadership resources and volunteers to more than a dozen local outreach organizations across three core focus areas: Neighborhood Impact, Schools and Education and Economic Renewal.
100% of the peer-to-peer funds raised by the Renew Chicago Triathlon Team benefit its ministry and charity partners.
Our 2020 vision for Renew Chicago was to re-align with core ministry partners (Breakthrough & Lydia Home) and sponsored charities (Tri-Masters and Live Grit Soars) and forge new faith-based partnerships (introducing Salt & Light Coalition as our third ministry partner) in empowering our Tri Team athletes to creatively spread the Gospel message throughout our community.
In support of and out of respect for the people and families directly afflicted by Covid-19, and based on the uncertain status of the Chicago Triathlon taking place in its typical, socially-engaging manner, we have decided to postpone our team participation until 2021.

Unlike the majority of charity endurance teams, Renew Chicago has never enforced a minimum fundraising commitment. That’s one of the reasons we average more than $750 raised per athlete.
