2019 Renew Chicago Tri Team

This August, I am on a mission to conquer the Chicago Triathlon. This will be my third Chicago Triathlon, and you can say I've become somewhat addicted. This one feels a little different, the culmination of this triathlon will propel me into training for my my first Ironman 70.3 in 2020! My personal goal for the Chicago Triathlon this year is to PR by 15+ minutes. This might sound simple to some, but considering my wife and I are expecting our third child on July 1st (right smack in the middle of training), I think this is lofty, but achievable goal! I want to be sure I'm ready for my first Ironman 70.3 and getting a personal record in the Chicago Triathlon is a big step in that direction.

There's plenty of personal motivation there, but I'm not only doing it for myself! I'm once again raising money in an effort to support non-profit organizations in the local Chicago area that are focused on impacting this great city's neighborhoods, schools and education and economic renewal! 50% of the funds we raise will be issued to Breakthrough as an end-of-season, unrestricted (the best kind!) grant. The other half of funds raised will be distributed during and after the season (which runs from the beginning of May through the end of August) concludes.

To learn more about Breakthrough, please check out the video below and p;ease consider supporting my efforts? Any donations or prayers you would be generous enough to provide would be so much appreciated. THANK YOU!

Breakthrough is committed to community revitalization in East Garfield Park on Chicago's West Side, and for 25 years has followed a profoundly simple formula: people first. Each year, Breakthrough provides housing, food, job training, medical care, education, and youth development activities to over 5,000 local residents. Throughout all of its services, Breakthrough envisions a vibrant, healthy community in which all people recognize their God given value and where success is the norm and families prosper.

Rooted in partnership with a diverse collection of non-profits, Renew Chicago, a standalone 501(c)3, provides financial and leadership resources and volunteers to more than a dozen local outreach organizations across three core focus areas: Neighborhood Impact, Schools and Education and Economic Renewal.
