On August 25th, I will be racing in my third triathlon (and first Olympic distance). My friend Bernardo Urdaneta originally encouraged me to sign up for my first triathlon - I was initially reluctant but decided to give it a shot. In training, I have rediscovered how much I enjoy staying active and pushing myself physically. More importantly it has been a true pleasure to race on behalf of Renew Chicago. Renew is a nonprofit that is doing amazing work to support the homeless, improve access to early education and make a positive impact in our underserved communities. I've seen firsthand the impact Breakthrough, a Renew charity, is making in East Garfield Park to support the needy with housing, after school programming and more. Would you consider supporting Breakthrough and Renew in revitalizing our city?
Any donations and prayers are welcome, can't tell you how much it makes a difference. Thank you in advance for your generous support!!
Breakthrough is committed to community revitalization in East Garfield Park on Chicago's West Side, and for 25 years has followed a profoundly simple formula: people first. Each year, Breakthrough provides housing, food, job training, medical care, education, and youth development activities to over 5,000 local residents. Throughout all of its services, Breakthrough envisions a vibrant, healthy community in which all people recognize their God given value and where success is the norm and families prosper.
Rooted in partnership with a diverse collection of non-profits, Renew Chicago, a standalone 501(c)3, provides financial and leadership resources and volunteers to more than a dozen local outreach organizations across three core focus areas: Neighborhood Impact, Schools and Education and Economic Renewal.
